Family displaced by fire on Cartersville Road

A home in the 1700 block of Cartersville Road caught fire Sunday, Jan. 26. According to Cumberland Volunteer Fire Department (CVFD) member Ben Pfeiffer, CVFD was dispatched at 12:03 p.m. Sunday to find fire showing from the rear of the home. Crews made entry through the front door of the residence, which was showing lots of smoke, and located the fire in the home’s kitchen and bedroom. The fire was extinguished in two hours. No one was injured in the blaze, but the family residing in the home was displaced following the incident. The Red Cross is helping the family. Cartersville Volunteer Fire Department and CVFD Engine 24, Tanker 22 and Tanker 23 responded to the house fire.
