Christopher Lyle Ownby, 38, of Broadway, Va., formerly of Green Bay, passed away in his sleep January 4, 2020, following a period of declining health. He was born in La Plata, Md. on January 13, 1981.

He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church, Rice, Va. and greatly enjoyed movies, metal music and watching Dragon Ball Z.

Surviving are his mother, Ruby Custer Green of Green Bay, his father, Donald L. Ownby of Broadway; grandmother, Mary King Jenkins of Green Bay; two brothers, Donald “D.J.” Ownby, Jr. of Broadway and John Green of Baltimore, Md.

A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Monday, January 13, at Sharon Baptist Church, 14 Sandy River Road, Green Bay, VA.
