Payne Memorial UMC, 50 Stoney Point Road, will be hosting Christmas for the forgotten pets at 11:15 a.m. on Dec. 8. Bring a donation, old blanket or dog and cat food for the shelter.

Come and enjoy Lights At The Park (Bear Creek Lake State Park) 22 Bear Creek Lake Road, Cumberland for a drive through light show on the weekend of Dec. 6-8 and 13-15 from 5-7:30 p.m. Admission fees will be waived with a new unwrapped toy or monetary donation to benefit Cumberland Christmas Mother. Activities to include: Saturday, Dec. 7, and 14, s’mores and cocoa from 5-7:30 p.m. at Bear Creek Hall. S’mores kits available for a nominal donation. On Sunday, Dec. 8, enjoy a pancake supper with Santa from 5-7:30 p.m. at Bear Creek Hall. Donations accepted. There will also be ornaments for sale.

Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee will be hosting its regular monthly meeting on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 3 p.m. at the Cumberland Community Center located at 45 South and Davenport Road in Cumberland. The purpose of this meeting is to inform Cumberland County residents and surrounding counties with updated information as to why this mega landfill will be detrimental to everyone. Following will be a spaghetti dinner fundraiser to include different types of homemade spaghetti, salad, roll and beverage for a donation. Eat in or take out. All are welcome to attend.

Cedar Baptist Church located on 3932 Bell Road, Dillwyn, will be hosting its annual Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. This year’s theme is “It’s CHRISTmas.” This will be followed by refreshments in the church fellowship hall. Victory Baptist Church located 4339 Salem Road Spout Springs, will be hosting its annual Christmas program on Sunday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. The title of the program is “The Heavenly Visitor.” Also, the church will be having a live Nativity on Friday, Dec. 13-14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Pastor Jeff Worley and the entire congregation welcome all to attend.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association will be hosting its annual Christmas banquet on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 1 p.m. at the VFW Hall located on Route 60 at 14405 West James Anderson Hwy., Buckingham. All members and their guests are welcome to attend and asked to bring a covered dish with the meats and drinks furnished by the association.
