Children and adults alike enjoyed the Farmville Area Chamber of Commerce inaugural Family Fun “Ice” Skating Rink held at the Fireman’s Sports Arena on Saturday, Nov. 23.
The event, originally set to be outside in the parking lot behind Green Front Furniture, was moved indoors due to a forecast of rainfall — but that didn’t stop skaters from coming out.
According to Chamber Executive Director Joy Stump the sold-out event brought in over 350 people to enjoy the 30×40 artificial ice rink during the one day skate.
Chamber staff were on hand during the day to sell concessions, and Chamber Board Chair and WFLO radio station manager Chris Brochon served as the master of ceremonies and provided upbeat tunes for skaters.
