VSP probing fatal crash
Virginia State Police (VSP) are investigating a fatal single-vehicle crash that took place late Saturday evening in Prince Edward County, VSP Public Relations Director Corinne N. Geller cited in a Monday morning press release.
She noted that VSP Trooper L.W. Atkins is investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 11 p.m. Saturday on Saylers Creek Road, less than a mile north of U.S. Route 460.
“A 1982 Chevrolet C10 was traveling south on Saylers Creek Road and was coming into a curve when the driver lost control of the vehicle,” Geller said in the release. “The vehicle spun off the left side of the road and struck an embankment.”
The release stated that the driver, Tyrone E. Dove, 42, of Burlington, North Carolina, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Dove died at the scene.
Geller concluded the release by noting that the crash remains under investigation.
