Adam Tapp, of Cumberland, completed the Southside Virginia Community College (SVCC) Power Line Worker (PLW) Training Program on Aug. 15. He is a graduate of Shelby High School in Shelby, North Carolina. The 11-week program provides both classroom and hands-on training in safety, climbing techniques, electrical theory, aerial framing, rigging, Operation Utility Service Equipment and Commercial Driver’s License Training.
