A 31-year-old Pamplin man was killed following a single vehicle accident in Chesterfield County on Aug. 29. According to Elizabeth Caroon, Chesterfield County Police Department public relations information coordinator, the crash occurred in the 13700 block of Beach Road at about 9:23 p.m.

“The driver of a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado was driving south on Beach Road when he ran off the right side of the roadway, re-entered the roadway, and ran off the left side of the roadway before striking a tree.” The driver, Roger Aaron Wilkerson, 31, of Pamplin was pronounced deceased on scene.

According to police the investigation indicates that both speed and lack of seat belt use are contributing factors in this crash.

Police continue the investigation into this incident.
