Community support needed

The Buckingham Active Seniors is a fun group of individuals, ages 50 and above, from all backgrounds who come together to share common interests and explore new ones. They do much more than have meetings. They enjoy going on trips and tours, fundraising events, community service projects, celebrations and more. They love to have fun as well as give back to the community — and membership is free. The Buckingham Active Seniors group has grown tremendously since their start in late 2010 and they hope to continue to grow every day. They strive for positive, informative and enjoyable quality programs and events in which members can participate. They are more than just a group; they are a family. Their goals are to provide fun and exciting activities to senior citizens in Buckingham County. They want to educate seniors and make a difference in other people’s lives and the community. Meeting dates are the second Tuesday of each month at 1:30 p.m. at the Buckingham VFW Hall at 14405 West James Anderson Highway, Buckingham. They welcome you to join and bring a friend.

The Southside Pregnancy Support Center needs your help. They are so grateful for their faithful, generous supporters. As you consider how you would like to support the center, they would ask that you please keep in mind the following needs: baby cribs, high chairs, bouncy seats, portable cribs and exercise jump seats. Everyone knows that baby equipment is expensive, but so many clients are in need of safe, quality items to help them in their parenting journey. And as the center tries to reach new clients, the first question often asked by those clients is if there is help to procure a safe-sleep solution for their baby. Consider a donation if you can. For more information, call (434) 392-8483. A local office is now open in Dillwyn.
