Fulani receives scholarship

Cumberland County Public Schools Foundation, Inc. recently announced the 2019 scholarship awards. According to a news release, the Foundation awarded 39 scholarships to 25 students (7 college students and 18 high school students) a total of $33,650 — its highest total ever.

The release further stated, “to date, the Foundation has given a total of $127,734 in teacher grants and $342,950 in scholarships to Cumberland High School graduates.”A Cumberland Clothes Closet scholarship in the amount of $1,000 is being awarded to Munirah Fulani.

She plans to major in nursing through Southside Virginia Community College continuing on to Virginia Commonwealth University. Fulani has a GPA of 4.17.
