Jimmy Loy Ownby, 78, of Cumberland County Virginia passed away at his home on June 28, 2019.

He was born to the late Fred and Della Ownby. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Aline S. Ownby and three sons Dennis (Kristin), Jason (Julie) and Michael (Kim) along with his five beloved grandchildren Morgan, Jason, Joey, Lexy and Tennessee.
He retired in February 2018 after serving in law enforcement for fifty years. The family received friends on Sunday June 30 at Shorter Funeral Home.
The service was held on Monday July 1 at 2 p.m. at Jones Chapel Baptist Church in Cumberland. Memorial contributions can be made to Jones Chapel Baptist Church or Cartersville Rescue Squad.
