Twelve members of the Friends of the Appomattox River (FAR) paddled a segment of the James River on Saturday, June 29. The float of approximately 2 miles was all within the confines of the James River State Park just east of Bent Creek. After the float, the group picnicked at one of the shelters in the park. On the way home several members stopped at the Adams Museum across from Buckingham County Courthouse to view a collection of Native American artifacts collected by Spencer Adams. Pictured are, from left, Ron Heinemann, Mary Hinds, Judy McCann, Al Lookofsky, Kathy Brandt, Steve Barber, Betsy Lookofsky, Warren Rofe, Spencer Adams, Bobby Hurt, Phil Bailey and Lee Woodruff.
