Sheila Babb Martin

Babb. On June 24, 2000 she married the love of her life, Jeff Martin, at Farmville Baptist Church, Farmville, Virginia. She completed her degree work at Braxton School of Business, Richmond, Virginia, and went on to provide administrative professionalism to many organizations, her last being the Prince Edward County Administrator’s Office where she earned the respect of her co-workers through her attention to detail, reliable high quality work, and wry sense of humor. Since 2014, she gave her full attention to her home and family, excelling as an advocate for her children. Her love for her family expanded when she was blessed with three grandchildren in 2019. Her favorite place to spend time with friends and family was the beach, and she moved to Longs, SC for a few years to follow her passion of ocean sunrises, sandy toes and salt air breezes near Myrtle Beach. Sheila and Jeff returned to Lynchburg, Virginia to be closer to family and their home community in 2016. Sheila enjoyed old houses, her flowers, and the pastime of gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Jeff Martin; her children, Rebecca Dooley, Allana (Zach) Dooley Shumaker, Jasmine Martin, and Andrew Martin; her grandchildren, Bella and Kingsley Cashwell, and Carter Shumaker; her mother, Ida Braswell Babb; her siblings, Amy Barner, Sharon Wheeley, Ellen Cooke, Diane Grizzard, and Richard Babb; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
