The 41st annual Hudgins Family Reunion will be held Sunday, May 19, from noon to 5 p.m. at the home of James and Virginia Boyles located at 281 Agee Lane, Cumberland. All family members and guests are welcome. Bring your favorite dish.

The Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee welcomes all citizens of Cumberland County and surrounding counties to a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Courtroom.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, is sponsoring a one day bus trip Thursday, Aug. 1, to The Wohlfahrt Haus Dinner Theatre (WHDT) in Wytheville, to the show called “A Country Gospel.” WHDT is happy to present its version of “good ol’” country gospel. The production will feature favorite songs that we grew up singing from spiritual, happy, hand-clapping numbers to sweet beautiful inspirational hymns played by our own talented musicians. Come and join in this opportunity to praise the Lord. Pickup will be Food Lion in Dillwyn, Farmers Bank parking lot in Appomattox and Walmart parking lot in Lynchburg. Limited seating available.
