‘Zero to 60’ a hidden gem

We are fortunate to live in the Farmville area —with an overabundance of amazing things to enjoy and delight in on a regular basis; plays, concerts, community events, fundraisers, operatic performances, festivals; the list is endless. However, even in all of the things we are used to enjoying, one can find hidden gems to add into our annual cultural list of things to attend.
One of those hidden gems is Longwood Theatre’s “Zero to 60.” This playwriting festival is currently celebrating its 13th year. Simply put, “Zero to 60” is a one hour collection of six ten-minute plays written by playwrights from all over the country. All six plays are directed, performed, and designed by the students. They are funny and thought provoking at the same time.
Add “Zero to 60” to your cultural list of things to do around Farmville. This year’s performances will be held April 25, 26, and 27 at 7 p.m., with a matinee April 28 at 2 p.m. To add to the fun, “Zero to 60” is held in the Longwood Theatre department’s Lab Theatre, which is a rather intimate space. Seating is very limited; only 50 seats are available for each performance. Get your tickets online at longwoodtickets.com or at the box office in CSTAC Tuesdays through Fridays between 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. Parking is available for all performances in the CSTAC faculty lot at no cost.
