Lisa Lafoon Lloyd, Marking Specialist for Virginia’s Finest at Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) in Richmond, spoke to the Serendipity Club April 11 at the Farmville Presbyterian Church fellowship hall. Lloyd explained how the Virginia Finest Program was developed for food products grown in Virginia. It was launched in 1989 as a marketing tool for Virginia agricultural commodities. As part of the staff at VDACS, she markets Virginia products locally, nationally and internationally.

The Virginia Finest logo can be found on meats, cheeses, soups, seafood, peanuts, beverages, condiments, baked goods, snacks, sauces, chocolates and confections, dairy products and ice cream. The Virginia Finest program boasts more than 400 participating businesses representing a diverse assortment of products.
