The Cumberland County Volunteer Fire Department (CCVFD) Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a benefit pancake supper, 50/50 drawing and cake and pie auction to benefit the CCVFD on Saturday at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and make a tax-deductible donation as it continues to provide the necessary services in keeping the community safe.

Hatcher Baptist Church of Cumberland, Pastor Cameron Cloud and members, welcome all to attend their Spring Revival April 26-28. On Friday and Saturday services will begin at 7 p.m. Sunday school will begin at 10 a.m. followed by morning worship at 11 a.m. This will be followed by lunch in the church fellowship hall. The Rev. Mike and Kaylee Mead of Tennessee will be special guests throughout the weekend services.

Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee welcomes all citizens of Cumberland County and surrounding counties to a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. There will be a yard sale and craft fair on May 4 from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Southworth Power Equipment, 1273 Anderson Hwy., Cumberland to benefit Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee. Vendors are welcome. Donations gladly accepted. Items left over will be auctioned off on-site at 1:30 p.m.

Cumberland County Landfill Alert is now selling Krispy Kreme products to raise money to fight the Mega Landfill in Cumberland County. All sales are prepaid. Delivery date will be May 4 at Southworth Power Equipment located 1273 Andersonville Hwy., from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. For questions or to order call (804) 308-5748.

The Buckingham County Christian Fellowship Association, a nonprofit organization, will be hosting its regular monthly meeting on Monday, May 6, at 5 p.m. at Merk’s Place Restaurant of Farmville. All members and their guests are welcome to attend and plan to pay for their own meal. The Buckingham County High School Alumni welcomes you to join the “Let’s Fight Cancer Together” Fifth Annual Car and Bike Show on Saturday from noon-4 p.m. at Teresa’s Place located 15055 N. James Madison Hwy., Dillwyn. Cars best in show first place and second place. Motorcycles best in show first and second place in Domestic and Metric. The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County courtroom.
