The Cumberland County Volunteer Fire Department (CCVFD) Ladies Auxiliary will be hosting a benefit pancake supper, 50/50 drawing and cake and pie auction to benefit the CCVFD on Saturday, April 27, at 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend and make a tax deductible donation as we continue to provide the necessary services in keeping our community safe.
Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee welcomes all citizens of Cumberland County and surrounding counties to a community meeting concerning the proposed landfill to learn more and receive information about the stand against this issue. There will be a yard sale and craft fair on May 4 from 8 a.m.- 1:30p.m. at Southworth Power Equipment, 1273 Anderson Hwy., Cumberland to benefit Cumberland County Landfill Alert Committee. Cumberland County Landfill Alert is now selling Krispy Kreme products to raise money to fight the Mega Landfill in Cumberland County. All sales are prepaid. Delivery date will be May 4 at Southworth Power Equipment located 1273 Andersonville Hwy. from 8 a.m.-1:30 p.m. For questions or to order call (804) 308-5748.
Cedar Baptist Church located at 3932 Bell Road in Dillwyn, will have Good Friday service on Friday at 7 p.m. On Saturday there will be an Easter egg hunt at 10 a.m. with lunch to follow. On Sunday, sunrise service at 6:30 a.m. followed by breakfast in the Church fellowship hall. worship service will begin at 8 a.m. There will be no Sunday School or 11 a.m. worship service. Browns, Hanes and Rocky Mount United Methodist churches of Dillwyn will be hosting special Easter weekend events. On Saturday, there will be an Easter egg hunt followed by a light lunch. On Sunday, join them for sunrise services at 6:30 a.m. with the presentation of “The Birth Of Christ To Calvary” followed by breakfast at 7:30 a.m. with morning worship to conclude their day at 8 a.m. Pastor Rebecca Cook and the entire congregation welcome all to attend.

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting is held every second Tuesday unless otherwise announced at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Court Room.
