AKA Sorority goes red

The Kappa Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated participated in the American Heart Association’s (AHA) National Wear Red Day to raise awareness in the fight against heart disease and stroke in women. The sorority has been a longtime partner with AHA with its “Pink Goes Red for Heart Day.”
The sorority and its guests participated in the second annual Pink Goes Red Zumba event which was held at Prince Edward County Elementary School. Healthy snacks, water and blood pressure readings were provided, along with the participation in Zumba activities.
A financial donation was collected and will be donated to the AHA for further heart disease research, education and public awareness efforts to combat heart disease in women. Also, 32 pairs of shoes were collected and will be donated to the Soles 4 Souls program.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated is a community service organization whose motto is “Service to All Mankind.”
