Margaret Ann McMillan Seay peacefully departed this life on March 19, 2019 at her home, Perrow Place, in Arvonia.
Margaret Ann was born on May 6, 1936 in Six, West Virginia, to the late Monroe Jess and Ola Booker McMillan. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was dedicated to Christ Presbyterian Parish, where she was a longtime member and elder of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Her time spent with her family brought her great pleasure. She loved watching nature, reading, cooking, and sewing. She was a classic example of a southern lady, and wasn’t afraid of letting anyone know what was on her mind, and in her own words “that’s alright.”
Margaret Ann was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hamden Wright Seay, Jr.; and three brothers: Charles M. McMillan, Herman D. “Red” McMillan, and William L. “Billy” McMillan. She is survived by her brother Joseph B. McMillan of Concord; her children, Hamden Wright “Buttons” Seay (Loretta), of Dillwyn, Denise Seay Gillett (Tom), of Lynchburg, and Kirk Monroe Seay (JoAnne), of Arvonia; Grandchildren: Kirby Seay Baughn, Stephen C. Gillett, Rebekah Seay Critzer, Samuel J. Gillett, Mamie Seay Boyers, and Hamden Austin Seay, and her great grand-children who brought great joy to her later years.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24 from 2-3 p.m. at Trinity Presbyterian Church, New Canton with a memorial service to follow at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Presbyterian Church, New Canton, Virginia or the charity of your choice.
Dunkum Funeral Home of Dillwyn is serving the family.
