Farmville Downtown Partnership (FDP) announced Chelsey White as its new program manager in a Friday press release.
The release stated that “Chelsey comes to FDP as a Farmville native and a graduate of Prince Edward County Public Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Urban and Environmental Planning from the University of Virginia with a strong background in nonprofit work and experience working in high school and higher education settings. She is excited about returning to Farmville as a professional to apply the principles she studied during her time at UVA and to give back to the community that has given her so much.”
White’s work as FDP program manager will include efforts to support local businesses and “creating programs and activities that will enhance downtown Farmville,” according to the recent press release.
Jen Cox, president of the board for FDP, commented, “We’re thrilled to welcome Chelsey to the team. Her talent will be an invaluable addition to our ongoing efforts to serve our historic downtown Farmville district.”
White said, “I am thrilled to be part of an organization that helps make Farmville a fun and attractive place to work, play and live.”
The release concluded by noting that FDP looks forward to welcoming White publicly at Farmville Downtown’s SOUP Event on Friday, March 29, from 6-8 p.m. at the Longwood Center for the Visual Arts.
