Keynote speaker announced

The eighth annual Moton Community Banquet will be held Saturday, March 2. This year the Chief Deputy Attorney General Cynthia Hudson will be the keynote speaker.
The Moton Community Banquet is an annual community event that brings together all members of the community to recognize supporters and honor local civil rights history when the courage and sacrifices of young people and their families expanded equality for all Americans.
The keynote speaker has had an impressive career working on behalf of citizens all across our great Commonwealth. Cynthia Hudson is currently Chief Deputy Attorney General of Virginia.
Appointed to that post in January 2014, Hudson is responsible for managing the daily legal operations of the Virginia Office of the Attorney General in its service as the Department of Law for the state of Virginia, and for ensuring the provision of quality and timely legal services for the Office of the Governor, all state executive branch departments, agencies, entities and officials.
Hudson previously served eight years as city attorney for the City of Hampton where she guided the work of the city’s law office and risk management office in providing legal counsel, representation and claims management for the Hampton city council, the city administration and related public entities. Hudson’s spent her early law career in private practice with McGuireWoods, LLP in Richmond and the Virginia Department of Personnel and Training.
A native of Nottoway County and a product of its public school system Hudson received her undergraduate degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and her law degree from the College of William and Mary, where she has been an adjunct law faculty member.
