Woman’s Club of Farmville supports charities

The Woman’s Club of Farmville, a local service club, presented checks at its Jan. 2 meeting to the following charities:
VA Children’s Book Festival: Virginia Watson; Commonwealth Chorale: Norma Williams; FACES: Bobby Eiban; Camp Loud and Clear: Martha Taylor; Area 21 Special Olympics: Johann Gree; Farmville P.E. Library: Morgan Hayes; VA Free Clinic: Pat Payne; Farmville Woman’s Club President: Debbie McClintock; Virginia Legal Aid Society: Tracy Hammonds; Salvation Army: Monroe Preston; STEPS: Amy Beatson; Special Olympics: Johnny Farrell; Camp Loud and Clear: Tyler Kingsley; Habitat for Humanity: Sam Rabon; Madeline’s House: Michele Laaksonen; Piedmont Senior Resources: Justine Young; Pregnancy Support Center: Kathy Holsopple; and P.E. Rescue Squad: Michael Herndon. Not present were Meals on Wheels, Patrick Henry Family Services, Piedmont Area Veterans Council and Que Wilhelmi Scholarship Red Door 104, Arts for kids. If interested in joining the Farmville Woman’s Club, the club meets the first Monday of the month at the Farmville P.E. Library. Social starts at 2 p.m. and the meeting is at 2:30 p.m.
