Maria Teresa Delgado de Alvarez, 90, of Quito Ecuador was called to God’s presence on December 13, 2018 while at her home after a prolonged fight with pneumonia. She was born on December 5, 1928, daughter of Manuel and Rosa Elvira Delgado.

Maria Teresa was a loving wife, caring mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Simón Bolívar Alvarez Reyes; her sons Ing. Patricio Alvarez, Ing. Diego Alvarez, Dr. Consuelo Alvarez; her daughters-in-law Rocío Lalama, Mónica Fernández, and son-in-law Dr. Gary Lutz; her grandchildren Pablo Martin, Gabriel Esteban, Isabela, Ricardo, Diego Andrés, Valeria, Christian, and Henry Manuel Lutz.

She was preceded in death by her five siblings: Concepción, Sister Clemencia, Sister Laura, Sister Carmen, and Father Luis.

Funeral arrangements were held at Camposanto Monte Olivo in Quito, Ecuador on December 14-15 and a memorial mass will be held in her honor on January 27 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Farmville, VA.
