Joyce Knight Baldwin Garris

She was a loving, devoted mother and friend to all whose lives she touched. When she loved you, she loved you with all her heart. She left us while sleeping peacefully at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Farmville, Virginia on March 10, 1938. She witnessed a world of great changes during her life.

During the time of the Korean War in 1955, she met her loving husband and best friend, James B. Garris. They married in February of 1956 in Farmville and made their lives together there for over 62 years. She was the loyal, loving and steadfast mother of Loretta Gant, Janet Pembelton (Ronnie) and Chris Garris, proud grandmother of Lee Garris and Stephanie Zukowski and equally proud great-grandmother to Abby Zukowski, Emma Garris and Ava Garris.
