Ice expected to be present in winter storm

- NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE A map of ice accrual from the National Weather Service indicates that the Farmville area could see approximately 0.12 inches of ice, but Central Virginia could see up to 0.2 inches.
Up to two-tenths of an inch of ice is being forecast for Central Virginia due to the winter storm approaching this weekend. Farmville could see approximately 0.12 inches of ice.
The worst of the snow, possibly mixed with sleet and freezing rain, is set to come Saturday night and last into Sunday.
A winter storm watch remains in effect for the area, lasting until midnight on Sunday.
Probabilistic snowfall readings for Buckingham, Cumberland and Prince Edward indicate that the counties could see anywhere from 3-6 inches of snow.
