Dr. Talbert honored by Purdue University

Dr. Allen Talbert was recently honored by Purdue University when he was inducted into the University’s Book of Great Teachers.
This ceremony, held every five years, honors outstanding teaching faculty, who have demonstrated sustained excellence in the classroom. A professor at Purdue since August 1994 in the college of Agricultural Sciences Education and Communication he is a native of Buckingham County, graduating from Buckingham County High School in 1979.
He attended VA Tech, where he received a BS Degree in Agricultural Education in 1983. After teaching in high school for six years, he returned to VA Tech and received a Master’s Degree in 1990. He received his PhD from Texas A&M in 1992. Dr. Talbert is the son of Bill and Helen Talbert of Andersonville.
He is married to Kimberly Harber of Whitesboro, Texas and has two sons, Franklin and Brian.
