Tigers come up short in Tennessee event

Hampden-Sydney College’s men’s basketball team went 0-2 at the Music City Classic over the weekend in Gallatin, Tennessee.
The Tigers lost 78-72 to MacMurray College on Sunday and fell 72-64 to Mount Aloysius College on Saturday.
Leading Hampden-Sydney in scoring Saturday was senior guard/forward Malik Crute, with 19 points, and junior point guard Chaise Johnson, with 13.
Sunday’s game featured a balanced scoring effort from the Tigers, with only one player reaching double figures — freshman guard Cole Atwood. Scoring nine points apiece were Crute, freshman forward Warren Zager and sophomore forward/guard Drew Scott. Three Tigers also had eight points apiece.
Hampden-Sydney (4-6) visits Hood College on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m.
