Seven home games, matchups against four Atlantic 10 teams and a six-game Big South gauntlet highlight the 2019 Longwood University women’s lacrosse schedule that Head Coach Elaine Jones announced recently.

The Longwood athletics press release continued by noting that the seventh edition of Longwood lacrosse under Jones will kick off the season against Duquesne University on Feb. 10, opening a 16-game regular-season slate that features four opponents who finished inside the top 70 of last season’s NCAA Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) rankings.

Among those top-70 squads, the Lancers will face No. 18 High Point University and No. 66 Mount St. Mary’s University on the road and No. 46 Winthrop University and No. 54 George Mason University at home at Elizabeth Burger Jackson Field, officials cited in the release. They added that all four of those upcoming opponents won double-digit games last year and combined for a 52-23 record in 2018.
