Aubrey Wenton Lightfoot

Aubrey Wenton Lightfoot, 85, surrounded by loved ones, went to be with his heavenly family on December 23, 2018. Born August 27, 1933 in Buckingham County, Virginia, he was the son of Aubrey Clyde and Nannie Pearl Snoddy Lightfoot. He was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Marie Hudgins Lightfoot and daughter Tammy Rene’ Lightfoot, two brothers Edward Burnelle and Alvin Wallace Lightfoot. He is survived by his son Aubrey Eugene Lightfoot (Angela) of Cary, NC.; three grandchildren, Ashley Paquette (David) of York, SC, Hannah Marie Lightfoot and Daniel Easton Lightfoot of Cary, NC, and two great-grandchildren Easton Carter Paquette and Julianna Sutton Paquette of York, SC. He is also survived by one brother A.C. Lightfoot (Becky) of New Canton, Va. and numerous nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Marshall District High School in 1952 and was very proud to have served in the Army from 1953 to 1955 and was stationed in Stuttgart, Germany with the 321st Signal Battalion Corps. Returning to the US he trained as an electrician and worked most of his career in maintenance at LeSueur-Richmond Slate Corporation and Fork Union Military Academy. He was deacon emeritus at Mt. Zion Baptist Church and dearly loved his church.
Family will accept friends at Colbert Funeral home in Bremo Bluff from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, January 4, 2019. A funeral service will be held, Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in New Canton with internment following in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
