Willie Oertel III, 57 of Farmville, VA passed away on November 18, 2018.

He was born in Farmville, VA to the late Willie and Wilma Allen Oertel on December 13, 1960. He grew up in Cumberland County and enjoyed playing bass and working on guitars. He loved working with the mentally handicap and had a great sense of humor. He loved to do silly things to make those around him happy. His favorite thing to do was to just be around Will and Abbie, play music with them and watch them write and learn new things

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his children; Willie Oertel IV, Abbie N. Oertel both of Cumberland, 3 sisters; Donna Ennis (Jim), Debbie Nash (Bob) and Dottie Dice (Joey) all of Farmville.

A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 1 p.m. in Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Family received friends on Tuesday, November 20, from 6-8 p.m. in Puckett Funeral Home.
