The Piedmont Soil and Water Conservation District received a 2018 Girl Scout Community Award for hosting educational workshops for Girl Scouts to receive their Soils Expert Patch and Watershed Health Patch. These workshops educate Scouts about the importance of soil and water resources as well as ways to conserve them. Patty Jones, Unit Coordinator for the Girl Scouts Commonwealth Council, presented the award at the District’s September Board meeting. Jones is pictured with Larkin Moyer, Chairman of the Board.
