The Nora Lancaster Garden Club met Tuesday afternoon, Oct. 16, at the Farmville – Prince Edward Community Library with President Helen Smith, presiding. Member Tricia Crute introduced the speaker, Jay Wilkerson, horticulturist for Farmville. His presentation included recognition of David Fowlkes, overview of job responsibilities, details about landscaping and installation of several corporate sponsored beds, reminders regarding Arbor Day in March and Tree City – USA, ongoing challenges of working in the public domain and future plans. The following members were announced as exhibit winners in Artistic Design with the theme, “Gathering the Harvest,” Tricia Crute, blue; Becky Kelly, blue; Vickie Morris, blue; Bonnie Ramsey, red; Barbara Smith, blue. Winners in horticulture were Jane Clark, blue; Tricia Crute, blue; Becky Kelly, blue; Vicky Morris, blue; Judy O’Steen, blue; Linda Rofe, blue; and Barbara Smith, blue.
