Chair of the Moton Family Challenge, Joy Cabarrus Speakes, said the scholarship, in its eighth year, awards a $2,500 scholarship for its winners, which can be renewed for up to three years after it is initially awarded.

Groups of people sat at tables representing each color of the rainbow: blue, indigo, violet, red, orange, yellow and green.

The hat show took place with flying colors, and approximately 12 women participated posing with beautiful hats and even greater confidence.
