Police are on the lookout for an individual who is suspected of depositing a fraudulent check at an area bank earlier this year.
The incident took place in April 2018.
Detectives say in a press release issued Friday from Farmville Police Department that a man deposited a check into a customer’s account “without the customer’s knowledge and returned several days later and withdrew a portion of the deposit. The bank discovered later that the check was fraudulent.
The release cited that surveillance cameras at the bank captured images of the suspect making the deposit and withdrawal.
“Anyone with information regarding the identity of this subject is urged to contact the Farmville Police Department at (434) 392-9259,” the release cited.
