There will be a variety of handmade crafts, antiques/collectibles, in season produce, yard sale items, direct market items. AUGUST 12

HOMECOMING/REVIVAL, 11 a.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church, 6643 Lockett Road, Rice with Pastor Jimmy R. Coleman. Lunch will be served. Afternoon service at 3 p.m. with guest the Rev. Dr. Larry Thomson and the Beulah Church, Moseley. Revival will be held each night, Aug. 15-17, with Prayer and praise at 7:30 p.m. and the preached word at 8 p.m. We look forward to you worshiping with us.

BOWLING FOR VETS FUNDRAISER, 1:30 p.m. at Main Street Lanes. Door prizes, great food and fun for all ages. Get a team together or come by yourself.

HOMECOMING/REVIVAL, 11 a.m. at New Hope Baptist Church, Keysville. Pastor Allen will deliver the morning service. Lunch will follow. Revival will be held Wednesday – Friday with prayer and praise at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

PUBLIC AWARENESS MEETING, 2 p.m. sponsored by the Cumberland Landfill Awareness Group concerning the Green Ridge Landfill Project and opposing its development at the Cumberland County Community Center, 11 Davenport Road, Cumberland. All are welcome to attend. Your support and help are needed.

WORSHIP SERVICES, 11 a.m. at Forest Baptist Church of Meherrin, will be preached by the Rev. Roger Coleman of Union Baptist Church of Crewe. All are welcome to attend.

AUGUST 12-15

HOMECOMING AND REVIVAL, 11 a.m. at Sharon Baptist Church in Cumberland beginning Sunday followed by a fellowship dinner. There will be no afternoon service. The guest preacher for Monday through Wednesday will be the Rev. Gary Harmon, Pastor of Level Run Baptist Church, Hurt. Prayer and Praise service will begin at 7 p.m. followed by worship service at 7:30 p.m.

HOMECOMING/REVIVAL, 11 a.m. at Sulphur Spring Baptist Church. Revival will be held Monday – Wednesday with services at 7 p.m. Please join us.

HOMECOMING/ REVIVAL, 11:30 a.m. at Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church, Dillwyn with Pastor Paul Johnson for the morning service. Dinner will be served afterward. The Rev. James Harvey will preach the evening service. Revival will be held Monday-Wednesday with praise and prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and services at 8 p.m. There will be different guest speakers and choirs each night. All are welcome.

AUGUST 12-17

HOMECOMING/REVIVAL, 11 a.m. at New Witt Baptist Church, Farmville Highway South, Meherrin Road, Farmville with pastor, the Rev. Winston Bland. Revival service will begin Monday with prayer and praise beginning at 7 p.m. and the revival service beginning at 7:30 p.m. nightly with different guest speakers and choirs each night. Everyone is welcome.

HOMECOMING AND REVIVAL, 11 a.m. at Rocky Mount Baptist Church, 919 Stoney Point Road, Cumberland. Pastor, the Rev. Larry E. Smith will deliver the morning message. Dinner will follow. Minister, Christopher Foster, Associate Minister of Greater Galilee Baptist Church, Lawton, Oklahoma will bring forth the word for the afternoon service at 3 p.m. Revival service will be held Aug. 13 – 17 nightly with prayer and praise starting at 7:30 p.m. and worship at 8 p.m. Revivalist for the week will be the Rev. Kevin Bolden Pastor of Oak Union Baptist Church in Charlottesville.

AUGUST 13-17

REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. nightly at Peaks Baptist Church, 1948 Peaks Road, Prospect. Prayer and praise service will begin at 7 p.m. There will be different pastors each night along with their choir, ushers, deacons and church family.

AUGUST 16

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP, 8 a.m. at 555 River Road and walk to the High Bridge. This is an opportunity for all who are dealing with loss to walk together in an atmosphere of support and understanding. CRUISE IN, 4-8 p.m. sponsored by The Heart of Virginia classic car club at the parking lot at the old Schewels building next to Tractor Supply. Bring your antique car or classic car to show or come to check them out. Vote for your favorite car. Trophies for top three cars. 50/50 given. No entry fee.

OLD FASHION HYMN SING, 6 p.m. at Heritage Baptist Church, 700 Milnwood Road, Farmville. All are welcome.

HOMECOMING/ REVIVAL, 11:15 a.m. at Salem United Methodist Church, Dillwyn. Revival services will held Monday – Thursday. Revival speaker will be Woody Wood and begins at 7 p.m. each night.

HOMECOMING/REVIVAL, 11 a.m. St. Andrews Baptist Church, Cullen. Sunday morning message by the Rev. Dr. Maurice D. Finney. Dinner will be served. No afternoon service. Revival services each night beginning Monday at 7 p.m. Revivalist for the week will be the Rev. Jerry Streat, Pastor of Poplar Lawn Baptist, Blackstone. Different choirs each night. Come and be blessed.

AUGUST 20-25

REVIVAL, 7:30 p.m. at Gravel Hill Baptist, Jetersville, with praise and prayer service and worship at 8 p.m. Guest revivalist will be the Rev. Daniel Tucker, Jr. along with his choirs, deacons and ushers.

AUGUST 23

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE/COOKOUT, 1-6 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1301 Milnwood Road, Farmville. Those who donate will receive a hamburger or hot dog with fixins, baked beans and dessert.

AUGUST 25

OPEN TRAIL NIGHTS, 9-11 p.m. at High Bridge Trail State Park between Farmville and River Road. The public is welcome to walk or ride the trail under the light of the full moon. The closest access to High Bridge is from the Camp Paradise parking area in Prince Edward County.

AUGUST 26-31

HOMECOMING/REVIVAL, 11 a.m. at Forest Baptist Church. The former Rev. Otis Spellman will deliver the morning worship sermon. Lunch will be served. here will be no afternoon service. Revival service will be Monday – Friday with prayer and praise service starting at 6:30 p.m. and worship service at 7 p.m. There will be different guest revivalists for the week. Music will be rendered by different guest choir each night. All are welcome to attend.

SEPTEMBER 8

BAKED POTATO DINNER, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at the Randolph Fire Department, 2145 Cumberland Road. Menu will be baked potatoes, salad, desserts, coffee and iced tea. Donate at the door to support the fire department.

100 MEN IN BLACK PROGRAM, 3 p.m. sponsored by The Kappa Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. at Jericho Baptist Church, 615 Franklin St., Farmville. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Cavell Phillips, Assistant Pastor of the Richmond Christian Center. Theme will be “Dressed for the Test” (Ephesians 6:10—17). The event will benefit Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.

SEPTEMBER 9

WOMEN’S MINISTRY ANNUAL CELEBRATION, 3 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church. Pastor Sherrie L. Garrett of Beulah African Methodist Episcopal Church will be the guest preacher.
