Bernard Garland ‘Red’ Wooten

Bernard Garland “Red” Wooten, 93 of Farmville, VA passed away on August 20, 2018. He is the son of the late Floyd H. and Bessie Griffin Wooten. He
is survived by his son Ray (Judy), grandchildren; Dawn Michelle Schrader (Scott), Kimberley Raye Harwood (Scott), Beverly Garland Redman (Tim) and David Carmichael (Katie), seven great grandchildren, one great great grandson and one brother Robert.
He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth Jamerson Wooten and a son David Gene Wooten.
He retired from the Town of Farmville and was the proud owner of “Red’s Antiques”, a gathering place for many friends and mailmen on their lunch hour. Red loved to work with antique furniture and Ruth loved to collect the glassware. He was an avid gardener and shared many a tomatoes around town. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church and attended faithfully.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 22, at 2 p.m. in Puckett Funeral Home. Family received friends on Tuesday, August 21, from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Puckett Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Pisgah Baptist Church, PO Box 86, Rice, VA 23966.
