Raymond Earl Agee

Raymond Earl Agee, 88, of Buckingham County died July 21, 2018. Raymond was born on the Agee Farm on May 14, 1930 and resided there his entire life.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was employed by the Virginia Department of Transportation for 42 years, serving in Buckingham and Prince Edward counties and retiring as the Heavy Equipment Assistant Supervisor at the Lynchburg shop.
Raymond’s true love was farming and he enjoyed many conversations about his cattle and farm equipment. He farmed from birth to death.
Raymond was preceded in death by the love of his life, Clara Clements; his parents, Thomas Henry and Alice Cunningham Agee; brother, William E. “Buck” Agee and nephew, Bill Agee. He is survived by his nieces, Kim Agee and Peggy Agee; nephew, Gary Agee and wife, Margie; sister-inlaw, Elois Agee Woodard; great nieces, Kelly Redford and husband, James and their children, Joshua and Savannah; Brandy Ripley and her son, David, Lauren Bryant and her husband, Danny and their children Cole and Peyton; nephews, Ben Agee and wife, Shanna and their children, Garrison and Emma and Mark Agee and his wife, Erin; and many treasured friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 24, at 2 p.m. at the Dunkum Funeral Home, Dillwyn followed by interment with military honors in the Westview Cemetery in Farmville. The family received friends one hour prior to the funeral.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Toga Fire Department or the Buckingham County Rescue Squad.
