Rising junior Brandon Weaver of the Longwood University (LU) men’s golf team qualified Tuesday for next month’s prestigious U.S. Amateur Championship after producing a pair of rounds in the 60s during the U.S. Amateur qualifier played at James River Country Club in Newport News.

Weaver finished as runner-up in the qualifier, taking one of the two qualifying spots out of 65 players competing.
