Prince Edward Christmas Mother is hosting “Christmas in July,” an event lasting from July 23 to Aug. 10, to raise money and collect toy donations for children in Prince Edward County. The organization is requesting monetary donations, which can be processed through paypal on the organization’s new website, www.pechristmasmother.com.
Toys and other items, including board games, DVDs and books for all ages (baby to age 18), can be donated to a number of sites throughout the community.
Navona Hart, 2018 Christmas Mother, stated, “I know how busy the holiday season can get, so there is no better time to ask for your help than right now. It may be July, but let’s make it ‘Christmas in July’ and make a difference in the lives of children right here in Prince Edward County.”
Toy/item drop-off locations are: Longwood University Greenwood Library, R.R. Moton Museum, Town of Farmville Administrative Offices, Farmville United Methodist Church, St. Theresa’s Catholic Church, Real Living Cornerstone, Fishin’ Pig, Benchmark Bank (both locations), Southside VA Family YMCA, Farmer’s Bank, Wells Fargo and BB&T Bank.
Last year, the Prince Edward Christmas Mother organization fundraised $30,000 and served more than 280 children in Prince Edward County. Prince Edward Christmas Mother is a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization; all donations are tax deductible.
