The Prince Edward-Farmville Youth Association (PEFYA) Debs All-Star team has written a multi-part story of Dixie Softball dominance in the state of Virginia over the past two years, and on Wednesday night in Farmville, the team made that story a trilogy. The PEFYA All-Stars defeated the Clarksville All-Star team 21-11 in a mercy rule-abbreviated game to claim its third consecutive Virginia Dixie Softball Debs State Championship and advance to the World Series next week in Louisiana. The 2018 team members pictured celebrating on the field of victory are, from left, front row, Gracie Hodges, Hannah-Gray Schmidt, Alexis Gayles, Maddie Moreland, Madelyn Bickford, Brooke Landis, T’Asia Beasley; back row, Sierra Wharam, Abby Roach, Shauneice Beasley, Mary Grace Amos, Caroline Seal and SaRoya Walton. The team is coached by David Schmidt, Johnny Hodges and Michael Roach. For more coverage of the PEFYA Debs’ state title win, click here.
