JUNE 30
100 MEN IN BLACK PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Jericho Baptist Church, 615, Franklin St., Farmville. Guest speaker on the Theme: “Dressed for the Test” will be the Rev. Dr. Cavell Phillips, Assistant Pastor of the Richmond Christian Center and the 106.5 “The Beat” radio host. The program will pay tribute to men in black suits from the counties of Amelia, Buckingham, Cumberland, Lunenburg, Nottoway and Prince Edward. The event will benefit Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). All are welcome.
FISH FRY, 11 a.m. on Main Street in Keysville, near the Polar Express. This event will be sponsored by Antioch Baptist Church.
APPRECIATION QUILT WORKSHOP, 10 a.m. at the American Legion Post 8 cook shed at 1710 Jeffress Blvd., South Boston from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Volunteers are welcome. Questions or donations call Ellie at (434) 572-1998.
JULY 1
GUEST MINISTER, 11 a.m. will be the Rev. Van H. Petty, associate minister at the Tear Wallet Baptist Church in Cumberland, at the First Rock Baptist Church in Prospect, for the first and third Sundays in July.
142ND CHURCH ANNIVERSARY, 11:30 a.m. at St. Douglas Baptist Church, Abilene. Pastor Wendell Brown will bring the morning message. Dinner will be served. All are welcome.
JULY 2
MEETING, 6:30 p.m. of the Curdsville Community Center. Speaker will be Sheriff Bill Kidd. Barbecue chicken will be provided. There will also be homemade ice cream. Bring your favorite covered dish or dessert. Everyone is welcome.
JULY 3
CANCELLATION, of the meeting of the Heart of Virginia Beekeepers.
FIREWORKS AFTER DARK, 4:30 p.m. until at the Farmville Municipal Airport. The celebratory event will feature live music, food vendors and fun activities for children, including a bounce house.
JULY 4
FIREWORKS, 3-9:30 p.m. at Patrick Henry’s Red Hill, 1497 Red Hill Road, Brookneal. No pets permitted.
JULY 7
4TH OF JULY CELEBRATION, 4 p.m. at Meherrin Fire Station. Stew will be ready at 11 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by Step Back Band. Free admission. Boot drive at the gate. Fireworks display at dusk. Alcohol and pets are prohibited.
JULY 8
USHER MINISTRY PROGRAM, 3 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 1144 Hendricks Road Pamplin. Guest speaker, the Rev. Bland of Mt. Pero Baptist, Powhatan.

FREE LAY RESCUER TRAINING, 10-11:30 a.m. at Crossroads, 214 Bush River Drive, Farmville. Learn how to respond to an opioid overdose emergency with administration of naloxone.
BLOODMOBILE, 1-5 p.m. at Fuqua School cafeteria sponsored by The Kappa Rho Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and the Farmville Masonic Lodge #41. There is an urgent need for types O negative and positive, A negative and B negative donors. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (800) 733-2767. Walk-ins are also welcome.

MONTHLY FELLOWSHIP, noon – 1 p.m. at Payne Memorial United Methodist Church, 1 Stoney Point Road, Cumberland. The theme for the remainder of 2018 will be “Choosing Life.” The speaker will be the Rev. Barry Vassar.

101 DALMATIANS, 8 p.m. hosted by Stars Under the Stars at Crute Stage, Main Street, Farmville.

CUMBERLAND COMMUNITY MARKET, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Payne Memorial Methodist Church at 1 Stoney Point Road, Cumberland. Handmade crafts, antiques/collectibles, produce, yard sale, direct market items and prepared food items. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Tables will be set up inside and outside. REVIVAL SERVICES, 7:30 p.m. nightly at Midway Baptist Church, 837 Guinea Road, Farmville. There will be different ministers, along with their choir, each night. All are welcome.
