Matthew Moody named ODAC player of the week

Hampden-Sydney College (H-SC) sophomore tennis standout Matthew Moody went a combined 8-0 between action at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles in a 3-1 week for the Tigers that included a 3-0 run against Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) opponents. Hampden-Sydney jumped to fourth in the ODAC standings at 5-2 in league play. Moody joined his brother Michael for four victories at topflight doubles. Matthew picked up a 6-4, 6-4 win in singles play against Southern Virginia, he earned a 6-3, 4-6, 10-5 in the Tigers’ 7-2 victory over Lynchburg, he added a 6-2, 6-0 win in H-SC’s 9-0 win over Randolph and finished with a 6-0, 6-1 triumph in the Tigers’ 7-2 decision over Randolph-Macon. Moody is now 12-4 in singles play and is 15-1 in doubles play as part of the regionally 15th ranked doubles tandem he forms with his brother Michael.
