7TH SECOND CHANCE 5K MISSION RUN, 8 a.m. Register online at runsignup.com/Race/VA/Cartersville/SecondChance5KMissionRun. Proceeds benefit Cartersville Baptist Missions. FAMILY AND FRIENDS DAY, 11 a.m. at Monroe Baptist Church. The Rev. Walter Fells, Pastor of the Mercy Seat Baptist Church, Hampden Sydney, will bring forth the word. Light refreshments will be served. All are welcome.
INAUGURAL BARBARA JOHNS DAY CELEBRATION, 1-5 p.m. at the Firemen’s Sports Arena. This event is free and open to the public.

THE GREAT FARMVILLE DUCK DERBY, 5,000 rubber ducks will set sail on the Appomattox with a destination of Riverside park. All proceeds will benefit the partners of The United Way of Prince Edward County. You can purchase a duck or a quack pack at the Chamber office.
A RACY AFFAIR, a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraiser at J&J Treeland in Prospect. This is Piedmont Senior Resources biggest fundraiser, raising money to keep seniors across Amelia, Buckingham, Cumberland, Charlotte, Lunenburg, Nottoway and Prince Edward counties, stay safe and secure in their homes.
