Fitzgerald Memorial Baptist Church at 14 Fitzgerald Road in Cumberland would like to invite everyone on Sunday morning, April 29 at 11 a.m. to hear Southern Gospel Music at its best featuring “Smokey Wilson” from Concord. Come and join us for a great time in the Lord.

The Cumberland County Board of Supervisors monthly meeting has been changed from April 10 to April 17 at 7 p.m. in the Cumberland County Circuit Courtroom.

The Mount Calvary Baptist Church at 1193 Cartersville Road in Cartersville will be hosting installation services for Pastor Clifford Temple, Jr. on Saturday, April 28, at 3 p.m. Guest speaker is the Rev. Clifford Temple, Sr. Everyone is welcome to attend.

The 2018 annual Cumberland County Patriot’s Day Celebration will be held at the Cumberland County Courthouse on Saturday, April 28. The day will begin with a parade starting at 11 a.m. then 12:30-5 p.m., enjoy food, games, crafts, re-enactments, bouncy house and child program offered by the Cumberland Masonic Lodge. Make your plans now to join us for this great day of fun for all ages.

Don’t miss the 31st Annual Virginia Catfish Festival on Saturday, April 21, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmville Sports Arena at 1328 Zion Hill Road, sponsored by Southside Shrine Club. There will be bluegrass music by Country Proud and more. Lots of good food such as fresh catfish fillet, chicken fingers, coleslaw, baked beans, hush puppies, buttered potatoes, barbecue, ice cream and beverages. Cartered by Nixon Catering. Due to the inclement weather on Saturday April 7, the 2018 spring Miles Family Reunion has been rescheduled for Saturday at 1 p.m. at Golden Corral of Midlothian.
