THE WORD: No need to walk alone
Published 10:27 am Thursday, March 1, 2018
As we continue our journey together through Lent, we are reminded that we are to reflect on our relationship with God in Christ Jesus, reconnect with the One who redeemed us and now sustains us, and have a willingness to be restored from the bruises and brokenness that happens in our lives.
Any of us who have had to walk in the wilderness, perhaps lost, lonely and lacking in ways that could be physical, mental, emotional or spiritual; realize that we cannot last long alone. In rehab, people admit to having a problem they cannot fix themselves.
In Lent, we do the same. We admit we are in need of help. We admit we cannot help ourselves. We need someone to bridge the gap between us and our brokenness. God places those people in our lives. God asks us to be those people for others. God sent us Jesus as our example of how to do this.
For this week: Are you in need of help, and are you willing to ask for it? Are you available to help someone else? Where do you see God in the midst of it all?
