Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity in collaboration with Prince Edward County Public Schools and Fuqua School and the “Birdhouse Build,” Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity is hosting a fundraiser basketball game on Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. Featuring teams made up of students and staff from both Prince Edward High School and Fuqua School, this event will also showcase a school band featuring members from both Prince Edward and Fuqua, as well as cheerleaders, concessions, raffles and prizes that the whole family can enjoy.

The “Birdhouse Build,” is a build site named for the participation of the Prince Edward Eagles and the Fuqua Falcons. This build is being used as a learning tool for the students, who are learning several of the ins and outs that go into a Farmville Area Habitat for Humanity site, including designing shirts, raising funds and making positive use of social media presence in regard to the build. But, before anything else, this build is a demonstration of people coming together to help one another, and the students all jumped at the opportunity.

Tickets for the fundraiser basketball game can be purchased in the school board office of Prince Edward County Public Schools, the Gee Price Office of Fuqua School, or online at www.farmvillehabitat. org. Tickets will also be made available at the door. Children 3 and under are free. The event will be held in Willet Gym at Longwood University.
