Students compete in FBLA

Prince Edward County High School students participated in the recent Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Longwood Region Spring Leadership Conference. Prince Edward had 20 competitors in the event.

Members of the Prince Edward FBLA placed numerous times, garnering first place in five categories.

Winners included: The team of Sarah Edward, Natalie Cheyne, and Clare Calhoun, which placed first in Website Design; The team of Garrison Cheyne, Mark Stanley, and Chaney Sheehan, which took first place in Management Decision Making; The team of Sam Detrick, Ben Edwards and Johnny Ray Holman took first place in Entrepreneurship; Tiba Hamza placed first in Introduction to FBLA; and Audrey Magill was first in Introduction to Business.

Other team members included Melissa Williams, who placed second in Introduction to Business Communication; and Mattison Kinne, who took second place in Introduction to Business Procedures.

In addition, Tiba Hamza was elected Longwood Region Vice President.

Future Business Leaders of America is the largest business education student organization in the world. Nearly 250,000 high school and middle school students, college and university students, faculty, educators, administrators, and business professionals have chosen to be members of the association, which prepares students for careers in business.
