No. 6 Cabrini tops Tigers in lacrosse

Hampden-Sydney College’s (H-SC) lacrosse team took on No. 6 Cabrini University on Tuesday and fell 20-8 at St. Stephens & St. Agnes School in Alexandria. The loss dropped the Tigers to 7-3 this season, and Cabrini improved to 8-1. The contest was competitive to start, with the score tied 2-2 with five minutes left in the first quarter. But the Cavs went on to outscore the Tigers 10-4 in the second half, as H-SC was never able to get within more than eight goals. Despite the loss, Hampden- Sydney had several standouts. Ian Levin tallied three goals and an assist, Chandler Shaheen contributed two scores and an assist, Hunter Brown and Jared Medwar each found the back of the net once while helping on another goal and Jake Brummett went 8-12 on face-offs with four ground balls. The Tigers visit No. 16 Washington and Lee University on Friday at 7 p.m.
