Lady Eagles’ Harris makes All-State Second Team

Prince Edward County High School junior point guard Da’Mya Harris was one of eight female players in the state to make the 2017-18 Virginia High School League Class 2 All-State Second Team. She helped the Lady Eagles go 22-6 this season, advancing further than the team has ever gone before at the Class 2 level.

Though Prince Edward lost to Buffalo Gap High School in the state tournament quarterfinals, Harris led her team with 29 points. The Lady Eagles clinched the James River District regular season championship.

For the regular season, Harris averaged 20.5 points, five rebounds, 4.9 steals and 2.8 assists per game. She also made the All-Region 2A First Team, the All-District First Team, and she was named the district girls basketball Player of the Year.
