Cumberland County High School senior forward Darius Kyle was named to the 2017-18 Virginia High School League Class 1 all-state second team amid a highly competitive field of candidates.

Kyle averaged 12 points, seven rebounds, two steals and two assists during the season. He was named Region 1B Player of the Year after helping the Dukes win their first regional title in 27 years.

The Dukes were eliminated from the state tournament in the quarterfinal round in which they played Northumberland High School.
